Our volunteers are everything to us!
In fact, we are entirely volunteer-run! We are extremely fortunate to have on our Board museum professionals, researchers, and educators with decades of experience as well as skilled and committed community members, all with a love of history.
If you would like to volunteer, we are always interested in hearing from you! Please email hsgreenfield1907@gmail.com to connect! Local agencies make a big impact! We have loved working with the Greenfield Public Library, the Greenfield Savings Bank, the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, Foster's Market, Snow's Ice Cream, Greenfield Community College, the Four Rivers Public Charter School, the Greenfield High School, the Historical Commission of Greenfield, and the Museum of Our Industrial Heritage. We look forward to more collaboration in the future!

Membership, donations, and occasional state and federal support allows us to keep going!
The HSG is a member supported non-profit 501(c)3, relying primarily on donations and annual dues from individuals. Your support is important and appreciated! Please consider joining or donating. Annual membership is $20 a person, $30 for a household, and every dollar counts.
Through grants from the Western Mass Cultural Council, the Pioneer Valley History Network, Mass Humanities, and the Greenfield Cultural Council, we have been able to present speakers and exhibits we could not have done otherwise.
In 2019, with a grant from PVHN, we completed a review process with the American Association for State and Local History, to move every part of the Historical Society of Greenfield to whatever the "next step" was in best practices and best care of the collection.
